The path with a heart

The path with a heart.

"....Anything is one of a million paths (un camino entre cantidades de caminos). Therefore you must always keep in mind that a path is only a path; if you feel you should not follow it, you must not stay with it under any conditions. To have such clarity you must lead a disciplined life. Only then will you know that any path is only a path, and there is no affront , to oneself or to others, in dropping it if that is what your heart tells you to do. But your decision to keep on the path or to leave it must be free of fear or ambition. I warn you. Look at every path closely and deliberately. Try it as many times as you think necessary.
Does this path have a heart?

All paths are the same: they lead nowhere.
They are paths going through the bush or into the bush. In my own life I could say I have traversed long, long paths, but I am nowhere. My benefactor's question has meaning now.

Does this path have a heart?
If it does, the path is good;
if it doesn't, it is of no use.
Both paths lead no where; but one has heart the other doesn't.

One makes for a long journey; as long as you follow it, you are one with it.
The other will make you curse your life. One makes you strong; the other weakens you."
- Don Juan in The teachings of don juan: a yaqui way of knowledge by Carlos Castsneda.( merci Fred :)! )

Following the path with a heart. My own experience (so far) and personal observations.

Following the path with a heart seems to go something like this:

You decide to follow a path.
Cool stuff happens. Crap happens.
Crap makes you hit a brick wall.
You fall to the ground.
You cry/ get anrgy
Then you ask yourself: do i continue or do i do something else?
If you chose to do something else, you do something else.
If you chose to continue, you get up and find a way around/through/over the brick wall
You keep on going.

to follow a path with a heart one must accept the unexpected stuff that
comes with it. if the path is fully embraced, the unexpected stuff can
actually be turned into assets. but these assets can only be seen
if one continues to enjoy the path with a heart one has chosen for
oneself.

Don't just passively hope things work out. Be pro active. Through small daily actions bring about the suceessful results you desire.

It reminds me of mountain climbing. sometimes its hard,
sometimes its easy. But the challenge of the actual climb makes
you enjoy it all the time. And then, only if you enjoy mountain
climbing to start off with and assume responsibilty for climbing
the mountain - with all the problems that this implies - in the first place.

Assume responsibilty for deciding to climb the mountain and
focus on the thrill of the actual climb not on reaching the
top.

" If a person insists on a certain program, and doesn't listen to the demands of his own heart...

" ...he's going to risk a schizophrenic crack up. Such a person has put himself off center. He has aligned himself with a program for life, and it's not the one the body is interested in at all. The world is full of people who have stopped listening to themselves or have listened only to their neighbors to learn what they ought to do, how they ought to behave, and what the values are that they should be living for"
- Joseph Campbell, the power of myth

"Winning is getting what you want (your wish your fantasy your dream). Not what your father and mother wanted for you....."
Peter Clerin

Bliss comes to the one who does not cling to the fruits of his actions
-Bagavad-Gita

Death as an adviser
if you have trouble figuring out what your path with a heart is,
or
you just hit a wall on your path with a heart,
ask yourself:

what do i want to do before i die?

try this question: you 've got 24 hours left to live: how do you feel ? what do you do?
f/q: i get angry at the universe. i feel cheated out of my life. i didn't accomplish anything with my life. my existance was a total waste of energy. i've got to clean up my living spce so people can find themselves in it after i'm gone. and pay my debts, so others don't have to pay them for me after i'm gone.

what do you notice:
priortiy: keep my speace organized and no more debt

unexpected answer i got from asking myself this question:
i didn't accomplish anything i consider valuale with my life.

what gives me a sense of accomplisheent and that my life was worth living?
first thing that pops into my head: working on my art
I know it sounds foolish. but that is the first thing that came to mind.
if i work on it. i'll feel more content with my life.

question 2: youve got 5 days left to live. how do you feel? what do you do?

make a list

The path with a heart gravitates arround something that gives meaning to your life.

"Meaning can be found in:
- living for others
- a life work
- carrying suffering with dignity..A
."

4 tolec accords.

-impeccable speach. don't use your voice to poison other people's lives

-don't take things personally

-do not suppose

-do your best
. do what ever you do as if i was your last act on this earth."
